Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue has broken down while talking about her battle with breast cancer, just days before celebrating a crucial five-year mark giving her the all-clear.
Minogue told Molly Meldrum in an interview with Channel Seven, screened last night but recorded last month, that moments from that period of her life still come back to haunt her. Speaking of a visit she made to a hospital’s children’s ward while undergoing treatment there herself, Minogue said: “I remember one moment there where I was talking to some parents across the other side of a bed, so their child was there, and I was saying the things I would normally say in that situation, just making conversation with a child, with the parents, giving some support as well.
“And they really caught me off guard, they eye-balled me and said ‘And how are you?’ and ‘We hope you get through it.’”
The 42-year-old broke down recounting the moment and had to leave the room to compose herself. She tried explaining the reason behind her tears but broke down again.
